Consistently delicious no matter how crowded. They have a nice selection of Sake, the decor is interesting without being over the top and the sushi is delicious and simple.

It was a good place when you feel like drinking sake and chatting with friends while you enjoy their sushi, the food is fresh and tasty but its pricy as well.

a fine restaurant for less serious sushi consumers, or for those seeking a fashionable scene. My omakase was just a pile of fish, and there is more to great sushi than that. Great for the midwest, not NYC

Where Yasuda wins for decor and fish selection, Gari for ingenuity, and MASA for prices, Blue Ribbon Sushi represents the best well rounded sushi restaurants.
For appitizers I had Toro Tar Tar and Miso Black Cod, both very excellent in quality, though it fell short of Nobu's presentation. The Sushi was the avgerage of the best quality fish. From au-toro to the season's special Kohada, the fish was fresh and the rice soft yet defined.
To end the dinner we had a Green Tea Creme Brulee which like the toro melted in my mouth with the perfect balance of Green Tea essence.
Though definately not the BEST in New York, but Blue Ribbon Sushi has earned it's respect among the best worth of another visit.

Very dissapointing after reading all the good reviews about this place. If you are a sushi/sashmi lover then this is not the place for you. If you love cooked japanese food then its great. I went here twice, I thought the first time was just bad fish but I guess the second visit confirms it. The pieces are small, when I mean small, I mean extremely small. A party of two - we spent over $100, the food was very unsatisfying as well leaving a bad taste in our mouth. You are better off going to Yama's down the block or to Tomoe sushi. If you want decor this is the place, if you want sushi/sashimi, this is not the place for you!!!!!!!
