the sushi quality is pretty good and it is pretty reliable. The price is very reasonable especially for the quality of the food. The atmosphere is failrly low key and for the nyu crowd. they have a sushi eating contest that is worth checking out, but beware that if you don't finish, u r gonna have to pay for all the pieces that u pick to eat.

It's very inexpensive sushi--even though the $1 a piece happy hour has been extinct for a while--but apparently, to make ends meet, the quality has also declined a great deal since two-and-a-half years ago when I first went. The rice they use is no longer true sushi rice, but cheap American long grain. The fish is no worse than Doozo or Yama (that is to say not completely tasteless and terrible) but it falls short of being good. This is mostly notable b/c of how good the place used to be!

I went here late night in 2004, there was nobody in there and the chef greeted us with pleasure. We ordered the special rolls and a few beers, the chef who was an old grandpa hooked it up, made some sick ass rolls, service was a little tardy as it was late and the waiter dude was little slow, but overall good, 4 outa 5 for late night munchies.

Small place, a few tables, tinay sushi bar. The food was fine, service was freindly. Salke collection was small, but good.
Really meant for a quick lunch or dinnner, not a "dining experience".

This place is a great find - the sushi's great and the staff is extremely friendly (though you can occasionally feel like one of those airplane tarmac flag waiving guys getting their attention). For those that love rolls, be sure to try them here - you won't be disappointed. As added incentive, the chef loves to give samples, and before 8pm the sake is 2 for 1 and the sushi's a dollar a piece. On top of all that, they don't close until 3am - what more could you ask for?
